In the book of Acts we read, “They followed a daily discipline of worship in the Temple followed by meals at home, every meal a celebration, exuberant and joyful, as they praised God. People in general liked what they saw. Every day their number grew as God added those who were saved.” (Acts 2:45-46, The Message). These were true missional communities!
What then are Missional Communities at The Vine?
Did you know there is no word in the original Biblical languages referring to the nuclear family (dad, mom, and the kids)? The words the Bible uses to refer to family include dad, mom, the kids, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, servants, neighbors, and family friends…groups of 15 to 50 adults plus children. We are hard-wired by God to live our lives in these extended families. That is what Vine Communities are…extended families living life together, raising our children together, studying God’s Word together, worshiping Him together, and serving others together.
